Looking for voluntary work:

Important

Volunteering has many benefits in the UK. It is very common to volunteer and the experience that you gain from these positions translates very well on a CV and can often lead to a paid job.

Before you are recruited as a volunteer, some employers may check for your right to work. You may also need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, particularly if your voluntary position involves working with children, vulnerable people or is in health care. This check is requested by your employer, and you will need to fill in the form provided and provide some supporting documents. Not all positions require it. Your employer will inform you if your position requires a DBS check and arrange it as necessary on your behalf.
